Giants' Jason Pierre-Paul visits Dr. William Meyers for groin injury, undergoes surgery: 4 things to know

New York Giants' defensive end Jason Pierre-Paul had sports hernia and groin surgery after a consultation with William Meyers, MD, on Dec. 6, 2016, NJ.com reports.

Here's what you should know.


1. Mr. Pierre-Paul had surgery early on Dec. 7, 2016, according to a USA Today report. He sustained the injuries during a Dec. 4, 2016 game against the Pittsburgh Steelers. 

 

2. Dr. Meyers is a physician specializing in core muscle injuries working out of Philadelphia's Vincera Institute.


3. He has dedicated 25 years to the diagnosis, treatment, rehabilitation and prevention of core muscle injuries.


4. Dr. Meyers has worked with several athletes throughout his career including players from all professional U.S. sports organizations.
