Dr. Neal ElAttrache to operate on Portland Trail Blazers' Ed Davis

Neal ElAttrache, MD, will conduct arthroscopic surgery on Portland Trail Blazers center Ed Davis' left shoulder.

Here are five things to know:

 

1. Dr. ElAttrache will repair Mr. Davis' torn labrum on Tuesday, March 7 at Los Angeles-based Kerlan-Jobe Orthopedic Clinic.

 

2. Mr. Davis initially injured his shoulder during the 2015-2016 NBA season but played through it until recently.

 

3. The injury was re-aggravated on Jan. 20, 2017.

 

4. Mr. Davis is expected to miss the remainder of the season. A specific prognosis will be shared following the operation.
