Douglas Evans, MD, of Maywood, Ill.-based Loyola Medicine will coordinate medical care for hockey players participating in the upcoming NCAA Frozen Four tournament in Chicago.
Here are four things to know:
1. Dr. Evans will coordinate transportation and other arrangements for injured or ill players in need of urgent hospital treatment.
2. He specializes in treating sports injuries.
3. Dr. Evans has served as team physician for hockey tournaments both in the U.S. and abroad and currently serves as head team physician for the USA National University Men's Hockey Team.
4. Dr. Evans and Haemi Choi, MD, of Loyola Medicine served as USA Hockey's Men's and Women's team physicians at the Winter World University Games earlier this year.
