American Medical Response announced Angela Fiege, MD, of Indianapolis-based Indiana University Health Methodist Hospital is NASCAR's new safety team medical director.

1. Dr. Fiege has served as a physician medical consultant to NASCAR for the past two years.
2. Her advocacy for drivers and crew members' health and safety improved on-track care.
3. Dr. Fiege hopes to advance the medical care and emergency response services in motor sports.
4. She will collaborate with NASCAR medical liaisons and NASCAR consulting physicians and guide American Medical Response's services.
5. Dr. Fiege has served as a staff physician at Indiana University Health Methodist Hospital for the past 12 years.
6. NASCAR and AMR began partnering in February 2017 to advance NASCAR's medical support model and improve its on-track health services.
