Duke guard Frank Jackson underwent right foot surgery this week, according to Yahoo! Sports.
Here are four notes:
1. Erik Nilssen, MD, performed the procedure.
2. Dr. Nilssen operated on Mr. Jackson's foot at Pensacola, Fla.-based Nilssen Orthopedic Ankle and Foot Center.
3. Mr. Jackson decided to undergo the surgery after competing at the NBA draft this month in Chicago. He had a stress reaction during his freshman season at Duke but did not suffer from pain throughout the most recent basketball season.
4. Mr. Jackson could return to play at the end of this month, but a definite timeline is not set. Yahoo! Sports says the question remains as to whether Mr. Jackson will play by the NBA summer league in July.
