Team physician for the Chicago Blackhawks Michael Terry, MD, gave an update on forward Marian Hossa, the NHL reports.
Here are four things to know:
1. Mr. Hossa showed signs of a progressive skin disorder that is becoming more difficult to treat and control with medication while he plays hockey.
2. Dr. Terry recommends Mr. Hossa not play next season due to the medications decreasing effectiveness.
3. Mr. Hossa has been undergoing treatment with team medical staff for the past few years to treat his progressive skin disorder.
4. Along with being head team physician for the Chicago Blackhawks, Dr. Terry also serves as head team physician for USA Volleyball and the Northwestern University varsity athletics in Evanston, Ill.
