Timothy Kremchek, MD, performed Tommy John surgery on Yankee's pitcher Michael Pineda, according to the Yankees.
Here are three observations:
1. Christopher Ahmad, MD, initially diagnosed Mr. Pineda with the torn right ulnar collateral ligament.
2. Mr. Pineda is expected to miss the remaining 2017 season.
3. Dr. Kremchek is the medical director for the Cincinnati Reds and practices at Cincinnati-based Beacon Orthopaedics and Sports Medicine.
