After consulting with Misty Suri, MD, and Michael Gerhardt, MD, New Orleans Pelicans' forward Solomon Hill underwent surgery to repair a proximal hamstring tear, according to the NBA.
Here are four insights:
1. Dr. Gerhardt of the Santa Monica (Calif.) Orthopaedic and Sports Medicine Group performed the surgery.
2. Mr. Hill suffered the injury while participating in a basketball workout. He is expected to make a full recovery.
3. While it is not determined when Mr. Hill will return, similar recovery time for this procedure is six to eight months.
4. Dr. Suri is the head team physician for the Pelicans and physician at Ochsner Health in New Orleans.
