After undergoing an MRI on his right elbow, Diamondbacks' pitcher Randall Delgado will see James Andrews, MD, for a second opinion, according to Arizona Sports.
Here are three highlights:
1. The MRI showed Mr. Delgado has a flexor strain in his right elbow. The pitcher has been out since July with inflammation in the same elbow.
2. The Diamondbacks have shut down the pitcher until Dr. Andrews gives his opinion. The team noted Mr. Delgado's shut down is short term; however, there is a chance he could be out for the remainder of the season.
3. Dr. Andrews is a senior consultant for the Washington Redskins and orthopedic medical director for the Tampa Bay Rays. He is also the medical director for the Ladies Professional Golf Association.
