Cleveland Indians: Dr. Don Sheridan performs surgery on Brandon Guyer; Dr. Bill Robertson operates on pitcher Adam Plutko

Cleveland Indians outfielder Brandon Guyer and pitcher Adam Plutko underwent surgery performed by Don Sheridan, MD, and Bill Robertson, MD, respectively, according to the Akron Beacon Journal.

Here's what you need to know.

 

1. Mr. Guyer underwent surgery to repair the extensor tendon in his left wrist. He missed the last two weeks of the regular season after aggravating his wrist.

 

2. Dr. Sheridan did not give a timeline one when the outfielder would be able to return.

 

3. Mr. Pluko underwent surgery to repair a tear in the labrum of his right hip. He is expected to return in four to six months.

 

4. Board certified in orthopedic surgery, Dr. Sheridan specializes in arthroscopic surgery and sports medicine. He is affiliated with Scottsdale (Ariz.) Shea Medical Center.

 

5. Dr. Roberson is the head team physician for the Dallas Stars. He practices at the Texas Metroplex Institute for Sports Medicine and Orthopedics in Arlington.
