Washington Nationals second baseman Daniel Murphy underwent surgery performed by Tim Kremchek, MD, according to the Washington Post.

2. It is unclear when Mr. Murphy will return. The Nationals note they will monitor Mr. Murphy's rehab throughout the offseason.
3. Dr. Kremchek performed the surgery to repair articular cartilage in Mr. Murphy's right knee.
4. Dr. Kremchek is an orthopedic surgeon at Beacon Orthopaedics and Sports Medicine in Cincinnati. He is the team medical director for the Cincinnati Reads and orthopedic consultant for the NFL.
