Neal ElAttrache, MD, performed Tommy Johnson surgery on Los Angeles A's pitching prospect A.J. Puk, according to SF Gate.
Here are four highlights.
1. Mr. Puk is the A's top pitching prospect. He underwent the surgery April 11.
2. The pitching prospect is expected to miss 12 to 18 months, returning to the mound next season.
3. Dr. ElAttrache is an orthopedic surgeon at Kerlan-Jobe Orthopaedic Clinic in Los Angeles. He is a member of the Kerlan-Jobe Orthopaedic Clinic board of directors and program director for the Kerlan-Jobe Fellowship.
4. The orthopedic surgeon is the head team physician for the Los Angeles Dodgers and Los Angeles Rams. He is also an orthopedic consultant to the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim, Los Angeles Clippers, Los Angeles Kings, Anaheim Ducks and the PGA Tour.
