Dr. Riley Williams III performs meniscus surgery on Kings' guard: 4 takeaways

Riley Williams III, MD, performed a minimally invasive meniscus debridement procedure on Kings guard Bogdan Bogdanovic at the Hospital for Special Surgery in New York City, April 24, according to NBC Bay Area.

Here are four things to know.

1. A post-season MRI revealed a slight tear in the meniscus of Mr. Bogdanovic's left knee.

2. Mr. Bogdanovic joined the Kings on a three-year, $27 million contract last summer after playing for Fenerbahce of the Turkish Super League in 2016.

3. Dr. Williams is the knee group leader of the sports medicine and shoulder service at HSS. He received his medical degree from Stanford (Calif.) University School of Medicine and underwent sports medicine fellowship training at HSS.

4. Mr. Bogdanovic is expected to make a full recovery.
