Here are three sports medicine physicians who recently joined new practices or took on new positions:
Philadelphia Eagles head team physician Peter DeLuca, MD, and internist Gary Dorshimer, MD, will not return for the 2018 season. Drs. DeLuca and Dorshimer served the Eagles for nearly 20 years. They will remain team physicians for the Philadelphia Flyers. The Eagles' head athletic trainer Chris Peduzzi resigned after the team's Super Bowl win.
The University of Alabama at Birmingham named Irfan M. Asif, MD, chair of the Department of Family and Community Medicine. He completed a family medicine residency with a concentration in sports medicine at the Seattle-based University of Washington. He'll begin his role Sept. 15.
