Golden State Warriors, Kaiser Permanente partner in community health initiative

Orthopedic Sports Medicine

Kaiser Permanente is collaborating with the Golden State Warriors to establish Thrive City — a district that will provide year-round health and wellness services — for the Bay Area, reports NBA.

Four things to know:

1. Thrive City's 11-acre space will open in the Mission Bay area of San Francisco later this summer and will feature Get Fit clinics, yoga sessions and ice skating among other activities.

2. Thrive City will be the name of the district surrounding the new Chase Center arena — the new home of the Warriors — which is set to open in the Fall.

3. Kaiser Permanente physicians have also been named the official team physicians of the Warriors.

4. As part of its goal to expand healthcare services in the Bay Area, Kaiser Permanente is opening its 16,000-square-foot Mission Bay Sports Medicine Center a couple of blocks from Thrive City. The center will diagnose and treat sports-related injuries and is to open in late July.
