Plans for a $80 million expansion of Athens-based University of Georgia’s football complex were approved by the UGA Athletic Association, reports Fox Sports.
The 165,000-square-foot operations building will merge with the Butts-Mehre athletic center, which will feature a new sports medicine center, players’ lounge and coaches’ offices.
Since 2016, the university’s football team has seen a $30.2 million expansion of its indoor practice facility and a $63 million revamp of its locker room and recruiting lounge.
The new sports medicine facility will be completed in January 2022.
