Timothy Kremchek, MD, will perform Tommy John surgery on the right elbow of San Diego Padres pitcher Mike Clevinger Nov. 17, the New York Post reports.
Mr. Clevinger will miss the 2021 season as he recovers. He made four regular season starts for the Padres in 2020 and was diagnosed with a right posterior elbow impingement after his Sept. 23 start. He appeared in the postseason but was pulled in the second inning.
Dr. Kremchek is an orthopedic surgeon at Beacon Orthopaedics and Sports Medicine in Cincinnati. He is the team medical director for the Cincinnati Reds and an orthopedic consultant for the NFL.
Dr. Kremchek previously repaired Mr. Clevinger's medial meniscus in his left knee in February.
