Neal ElAttrache, MD, is scheduled to operate on former Clemson (S.C.) University quarterback Trevor Lawrence's left labrum Feb. 16.
His recovery will be about five to six months, and he's expected to be fully recovered for training camp, NFL Network's Ian Rapoport tweeted Feb. 13. Mr. Lawrence is the presumptive No. 1 overall pick in the 2021 NFL draft.
Dr. ElAttrache is an orthopedic surgeon at Los Angeles-based Kerlan-Jobe Institute, the Kerlan-Jobe Orthopaedic Foundation board chair and program director for the Kerlan-Jobe Sports Medicine Fellowship.
He's the head team physician for the Los Angeles Dodgers and Los Angeles Rams. Dr. ElAttrache also works as an orthopedic consultant to the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim, Los Angeles Clippers, Los Angeles Kings, Anaheim Ducks and PGA Tour.
