Keith Meister, MD, is scheduled to operate on Tampa Bay Rays pitcher Tyler Glasnow Aug. 4.
Dr. Meister will perform Tommy John surgery on the 27-year-old, according to an Aug. 3 report from ESPN. The surgery is expected to sideline Mr. Glasnow for the rest of the 2021 season and possibly all of the 2022 season. Mr. Glasnow first saw Dr. Meister July 31. The ace pitcher has been on the injured list since June 15.
Dr. Meister is the director of Texas Metroplex Institute for Sports Medicine & Orthopedics in Arlington.
