With the recent expansion of its Tritanium cages line, Stryker plans to showcase the devices at the American Association of Neurological Surgeons annual meeting, April 28 to May 2 in New Orleans.
Here are five observations.
1. One of the devices to be showcased is the Tritanium TL Curved Posterior Lumbar Case, a 3-D printed interbody fusion cage intended to aid lumbar fixation.
2. Stryker designed the Tritanium cages with its patented Tritanium In-Growth Technology, a porous titanium material designed for bone in-growth and biological fixation.
3. The Tritanium Technology features an interconnected architecture with rugged irregular pore sizes and shapes designed to mimic cancellous bone. The technology may also be used to wick or retain fluid.
4. Since the launch of the cages, Stryker's spine division has sold close to 26,000 Tritanium Posterior Lumber and Tritanium Anterior Cervical Cages.
5. Stryker's new Tritanium TL Anterior Placement System and Cage can also be combined to allow surgeon's improved apophyseal placement.
