Life Spine begins Prolift Expandable Interbody clinical study

Surface Technology

In partnership with Ahmed Khan, MD, of Central Connecticut Neurosurgery and Spine in New Britain, Life Spine initiated its Prolift Expandable Interbody System clinical study.

The Prolift Expandable Interbody System is designed for in-situ disc height restoration for micro-invasive posterior lumbar interbody fusion, traditional transforaminal lumbar interbody fusion and oblique TLIF approaches.

Life Spine incorporated its proprietary surface technology Osseo-Loc into the interbody system as well as multiple lordotic options.

Serving as the principal investigator, Dr. Kahn said, "Expandable interbodies have been effective to restore or maintain lumbar lordosis and disc height with reduced iatrogentic impact. However, outcome studies need to be performed to allay clinical ethicists and evaluate long-term patient outcomes."
