RTI Surgical launches 3-D printed interbody fusion system: 5 things to know

Surface Technology

RTI Surgical launched the Fortilink-C interbody fusion system, using TETRAfuse 3-D technology.

Here are five things to know:

1. Fortilink-C is a 3-D printed polymer-based, cervical interbody device that incorporates macro, micro and nano-rough features across the entire implant surface.

2. RTI Surgical designed the system to allow bony ingrowth on all implant surfaces while maintaining radiolucent mechanical properties surgeons expect.

3. TETRAfuse 3-D technology combines the osseointegration advantages of titanium and allograft bone with the benefits surgeons' experience with PEEK.

4. The Fortilink-C system is the first in a family of devices to incorporate RTI Surgical's TETRAfuse 3-D technology.

5. RTI Surgical continues to provide surgeons biologic, metal and synthetic implants used in sports medicine, general surgery, spine surgery, orthopedics, trauma and cardiothoracic procedures.
