Spine device company receives FDA approval for 5 interbody fusion devices: 4 highlights

Osseus Fusion Systems earned FDA 510(k) clearance for five 3D-printed, titanium lumbar interbody fusion devices, according to TCT Magazine.

Here are four highlights:

1. Osseus Fusion Systems, also known as Aries, developed the implants using its proprietary 3D printing technology PL3XUS.

2. The implants are designed for increased bone packability and have 80 percent porosity. They are developed in 30-micron layers before they are sintered.

3. All five implants are designed to improve bone growth and enhance radiovisibility for the surgeon and patient.

4. Osseus Fusion Systems entered the minimally invasive surgery sector in 2013.
