The Medicrea Group posted 16.1 million euros — about $18.1 million — in first half 2019 sales, down 5 percent year over year.
What you should know:
1. While Medicrea's total sales figures decreased due to lost sales from discontinued "non-strategic" products, the company's UNiD Adaptive Spine Intelligence platform drove growth in both the U.S. and the rest of the world.
2. In the U.S., sales increased from 7.6 million euros in 2018 to 8.7 million euros in 2019. In the rest of the world, sales increased from 7 million euros in 2018 to 7.4 million euros in 2019.
3. The company reported that the 4,000th UNiD patient-specific surgery was completed in the first half of 2019. In the second quarter of 2019 alone, 423 surgeries were performed.
Medicrea CEO and President Denys Sournac said: "We have developed an unparalleled surgical planning software platform that positions us as a unique player in personalized spine surgery. We will continue to deploy capital expenditures and resources to accelerate the adoption of this technology."
