Providence Medical Technology gets 3 spine-related patents

Providence Medical Technology received three new United States patents for spinal procedures, according to a report from The Herald.

The patents are for:

 

•    A cervical distraction method for implanting a facet joint, including "puncturing an access hole in a facet capsule, accessing the facet joint with a guide tool through the access hole and routing an implant into the joint along the guide tool."
•    A vertebral joint implants and delivery tools patent for a system that minimally invasively accesses the spinal facet joint space through a posterior approach.
•    A vertebral joint implants and delivery tools patent describing a method to place the spinal implant in a facet joint.

 

Providence Medical Technology is a privately held device company focused on minimally invasive solutions. The company is currently commercializing the DTRAX platform of differentiated cervical implants and instruments.
