Brad Prybis, MD, of Carrollton (Ga.) Orthopaedic Clinic, performed the first anterior cervical fusion using Meditech's CURE Anterior Cervical Plate.
Here are five highlights:
1. Designed for anterior screw fixation to the C2 to C7 cervical spine levels, the CURE ACP is a titanium plate with a one-step locking mechanism.
2. The system is intended for patients with degenerative disc disease of the cervical spine at one level from C2 to T1.
3. The CURE ACP offers a cervical plating system with a cervical interbody fusion device composed of PEEK-OPTIMA HA Enhanced polymer.
4. Invibio Biomaterial Solutions' PEEK-OPTIMA HA Enhanced polymer integrates hydroxyapatite into the PEEK-OPTIMA matrix.
5. Dr. Prybis will share his experience using Meditech's Talos-C (HA) line of interbody devices at the North American Spine Society annual meeting in Boston from Oct. 26 to Oct. 29.
