Medical device manufacturer Arthrex is expanding in North Naples, Fla., to include a hotel and wellness center, along with an office complex, which includes an administrative and events building, according to Naples Daily News.
While rates of stay and additional amenities were not included in the Naples Daily News report, the Sunshine Act requires all medical device companies to disclose compensation of gifts to surgeons valued at $10 or more, with few exceptions.
Here are five insights on the expansion.
1. Construction on the new office complex, hotel and wellness center is set to begin next month and be completed in late 2019. Arthrex also plans to include a 3-acre park among the medical campus.
2. The administrative and events building is expected to cost $73.4 million and bring in an estimated 560 jobs. The office complex will expand 300,000 square feet and will feature a 1,000-seat auditorium.
3. Cost estimates of the new 160-room hotel have not been released. Arthrex plans to use the hotel to host orthopedic surgeons from across the country that come for medical education in using the company's devices and instruments.
4. Employees and hotel guests will be exclusively offered to use the 38,000-square-foot wellness center and its medical facilities.
5. Last month Arthrex also announced plans for $74 million manufacturing plant in Anderson County, S.C.
