Simplify Medical appointed Cindy Lynch vice president of general counsel.
Here are four things to know:
1. Ms. Lynch has about 15 years of experience working with medical device startups to provide strategic legal and intellectual property advice.
2. She previously spent time consulting with companies such as Simplify as in-house counsel as well as served as vice president of intellectual property at Elixir Medical.
3. Simplify Medical appointed Ms. Lynch as the company aims to expand commercial efforts in Europe and complete two-level U.S. investigational device exemption clinical trials for its cervical artificial disc. The company completed a one-level trial in February with 166 patients enrolled. Simplify expects enrollment of its separate two-level trial to reach 200 patients by the end of the year.
4. In addition to leading the company's intellectual property program, Ms. Lynch will oversee the company's legal strategy and ensure its technology remains protected.
