Device company Spinal Elements on Oct. 30 launched its Lucent XP wide expandable interbody device.
Three things to know:
1. Lucent XP is designed for minimally invasive transforaminal lumbar interbody fusion procedures. It can also be used in open TLIFs.
2. The implant comprises PEEK and Spinal Elements' Ti-Bond porous titanium coating.
3. Lucent XP is part of the company's MIS Ultra portfolio, which features implants designed to balance the loads shared between the implants and the body and protect surrounding healthy anatomy.
"With oblique lordosis in the design, I am able to achieve expansion and lordosis in the midline, instead of asymmetrical lordosis," said Paul Kim, MD, of the Spine Institute of San Diego.
