Madison-based Orthopedic and Spine Centers of Wisconsin physicians who previously worked with Madison-based SSM Health are able to see their former patients since their noncompete clause expired Jan. 1, The Wisconsin State Journal reported.
Several orthopedic surgeons with the practice were bound under the noncompete clause, the report said. Now that the clause is expired, the number of patients those surgeons can see is in the "thousands," Jason Sansone, MD, told the publication.
Since Orthopedic and Spine Centers of Wisconsin opened in early 2023 the surgeons have seen patients at several hospitals in the region, and the group grew from 11 physicians to 13.
The practice also plans to open an ASC in the first quarter of 2026.
