In most medical practices, physicians make technology investment and purchase decisions, according to Physician Practices' 2014 Technology Survey, sponsored by Kareo.
The survey includes a total of 1,442 respondents.
When asked how technology decisions are made at their offices, respondents reported:
• Physicians decide to invest and select products to purchase — 33.8 percent
• Hospital or other partner decisions — 25.9 percent
• Managers present ideas for investment and present product options to physicians — 21.1 percent
• Physicians decide to invest and managers present product options to physicians — 13.4 percent
• Other — 5.7 percent
