2 orthopedic surgeons inducted into the AOSSM Hall of Fame

The American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine inducted two orthopedic surgeons into its Hall of Fame.

Edward Wojtys, MD, is a surgeon at Ann Arbor-based University of Michigan. There, he developed the sports medicine center. He served as the medical director of MedSport as well as section chief of sports medicine and team physician for the university's athletics.

Dr. Wojtys served as the AOSSM's program and research chair for the past 10 years and as editor of Sports Health: A Multidisciplinary Approach.

Bernard Bach Jr., MD, is an orthopedic surgeon at Rush University Medical Center in Chicago. He was critical in the development of Chicago-based Midwest Orthopaedics at Rush's sports medicine program. He also serves a team physician for the Chicago White Sox and Chicago Bulls.

Within AOSSM, Dr. Bach served as president. He has authored more than 1,000 scientific papers, abstracts and book chaptersand served as an editor for the Journal of Knee Surgery.
