Joshua Carothers, MD, is tapping into New Mexico's growing film industry with VIP StarNetwork, a healthcare service for film sets in the state, according to the Albuquerque Journal.

1. Dr. Carothers is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon specializing in total hip and knee replacements at Albuquerque-based New Mexico Orthopaedics.
2. Dr. Carothers is VIP StarNetwork's medical director.
3. VIP StarNetwork CEO Johonniuss Chemweno said that the service is especially designed for stars who do not want to attract public attention by going to emergency rooms for care.
4. VIP StarNetwork will offer about a dozen physicians specializing in adult internal medicine, women's health, orthopedics and pediatrics. Physicians have the option to consult with patients over Skype. .
5. The company will initially focus on productions in the Albuquerque and Santa Fe, N.M., area, but VIP StarNetwork plans to expand its services to films working in rural areas of the state. The company's price will depend on the size of the film production.
