Alex Ovechkin, left wing for the Washington Capitals, and Nathan MacKinnon, center for the Colorado Avalanche, have been named the highest paid NHL players of 2023, each earning $17.5 million this season, according to an Oct. 6 report from Forbes.
Forbes named the 10 highest-paid players by calculating on-ice earnings, including base income and bonuses paid in 2023, along with endorsements and other business deals for the 2023 season.
Here are the head orthopedic physicians of the teams the highest-paid stars play for:
1. (tie) Alex Ovechkin, $17.5 million, plays for the Washington Capitals, whose team orthopedic surgeons include sports medicine specialist John Klimkiewicz, MD, and orthopedic and sports medicine specialist Steven Svoboda, MD.
