5 things to know about Dr. Mac Sims who created the Syzygy Stabilization System

Mac Sims, MD, invented the Syzygy Stabilization System to achieve a more effective mechanical alignment of the spine when treating spondylolisthesis, The Tifton Gazette reports.

Here's what you need to know.

 

1. Dr. Sims created the device over the period of several years as a way to improve the disease.

 

2. Dr. Sims is an orthopedic spine surgeon with Tifton, Ga.-based Optim Orthopedics. He has admitting privileges at Tift Regional Medical Center.

 

3. Dr. Sims earned his medical degree from the Mercer University School of Medicine. He completed a residency at the Medical College of Georgia and then had a fellowship at the Spine Education and Research Institute in Denver.

 

4. Dr. Sims is board certified in orthopedic surgery by the American Board of Orthopedic Surgery.

 

5. He is the owner of Optim Orthopedics.
