Study: Vitamin D May Not Prevent Osteoarthritis

Pain Management

A study published in the Journal of the American Medical Association has found that Vitamin D supplements do not have a major effect on the clinical outcomes of osteoarthritis, according to an American News Report article.

Researchers looked at nearly 150 patients over a two-year period diagnosed with osteoarthritis to see if Vitamin D reduced the symptomatic or structural progression of the disease. They found that knee pain reduced slightly in both the Vitamin D and placebo groups at the end of the study, but found no significant difference between them at any time.
