Stryker's Mako shoulder robot earned FDA approval in December, Jason Beach, vice president of finance and investor relations, said in a Jan. 28 earnings call.
The first cases with the Mako shoulder application were also completed in December, Mr. Lobo said.
"We are excited to now offer a complete ecosystem for shoulders, which includes Blueprint, our pre planning software, Mako Shoulder and a leading portfolio of shoulder implants," Mr. Beach said as transcribed by Investing.com.
Mako Shoulder is in a limited number of sites as training protocols are underway, CEO Kevin Lobo said. Mako Spine, which saw its first cases in October, is expected to launch quicker.
