Stryker Corp. will be launching the VariAx Fibula Locking Plate System and the VariAx Foot Locked Plate Systems with the AxSOS Extremity Plating System, which expand its treatment options for bone fracture repair, at the 26th Annual American Orthopaedic Foot & Ankle Society Summer Meeting in National Harbor, Md., according to a Stryker news release.
The VariAx Fibula Locking Plate system includes a precontoured plate to fit the patient's individual need as well as the option to choose an appropriate angulation of locking screws. The device also allows surgeons to choose between locking and non-locking screws. The device is 1.3mm distally and is designed to limit tissue irritation on the ankle after it is implanted.
