DePuy Synthes, a Johnson & Johnson company, launched Sentio MMG, a digital mechanomyography platform designed to assess nerve status.
Here are four things to know:
1. The platform is also designed to identify and avoid peripheral nerves during spine surgery. It can be used during non-fusion procedures as well as minimally invasive and open spinal fusion operations.
2. Sentio MMG features a touchscreen tablet, control unit, probes and smart sensors that minimizes staff in the operating room.
3. The patented, smart sensor technology provides surgeons with real-time feedback on nerve location through visual and audible alerts.
4. DePuy Synthes is introducing the technology at the North American Spine Society Annual Meeting in Los Angeles, Sept. 26-29.
