NuVasive's manufacturing facility in West Carrollton, Ohio, achieved several milestones in 2018 and plans to continue building upon those wins, General Manager Dale Wolf told the Dayton Business Journal.
Five takeaways:
1. The West Carrollton facility launched the Porous PEEK interbody implant, which is designed to promote bone on-growth and in-growth, and improve blood-to-implant contact. A Charlotte, N.C.-based facility recently used the first Ohio-produced Porous PEEK product.
2. The West Carrollton facility also began manufacturing NuVasive's Modulus Titanium Technology last year. The technology is currently on the market.
3. Going forward, NuVasive will continue enhancing the facility's manufacturing models and roll out new technologies, Mr. Wolf told the Dayton Business Journal.
4. Additionally, NuVasive will expand the facility's workforce and manufacturing capabilities. About 250 workers are currently employed at the location.
5. NuVasive as a whole also reported several wins in 2018. The company's global revenue for the year surpassed $1 billion and its growth rate was 7.3 percent higher than the spine market average.
