Medical device company Boston Scientific is set to launch its WaveWriter Alpha spinal cord stimulator system in the U.S. in the first half of 2021, according to Zacks Equity Research.
Four things to know:
1. WaveWriter has four MRI implantable pulse generators that enable personalized treatment based on the patient's needs. It offers access to waveforms that cover several areas of chronic pain.
2. The system layers paraesthesia and paraesthesia-free options simultaneously to target nerves along the spinal cord.
3. The global spinal cord stimulation devices market is expected to hit $3.6 billion by 2026, growing at a compound annual growth rate of 8.7 percent, according to Grand View Research.
4. WaveWriter launched in Europe in September.
