Providence Medical Technology earned FDA clearance for its Cavux FFS-LX lumbar facet fixation system, the devicemaker said Jan. 10.
It is an integrated cage and screw system that's implanted bilaterally in the facet joints for patients with degenerative disc disease, according to a news release.
Clearance was supported by a 57-patient study, and 96% of levels were "determined to be fused as defined by a range of motion less than 5° on flexion/extension x-rays assessed by an independent core imaging lab."
