Detroit-based Henry Ford Hospital has named Steven N. Kalkanis, MD, chair of the department of neurosurgery and co-director of the Neuroscience Institute.
Dr. Kalkanis has served in numerous leadership roles at Henry Ford, including vice chair for operations in the neurosurgery department and co-director of the intra-operative MRI surgical program. His most recently served as medical director of the Center for Cancer Surgery at the hospital, a position he will continue to hold.
Dr. Kalkanis serves as chair of the Congress of Neurological Surgeons' Guidelines Committee and will serve as Scientific Program Chair of CNS in 2015. He is also president of the Michigan Association of Neurological Surgeons.
