Six orthopedic and spine surgeons formerly part of Johns Hopkins Orthopaedic and Spine Surgery at MedStar Good Samaritan have joined MedStar Orthopaedics.
The six surgeons include:
• Mesfin Lemma, MD
• Steven Kulik, MD
• Darioush Nasseri, MD
• Robert Peroutka, MD
• Steve Peterson MD
• Carmen Pichard-Encina, MD
Dr. Lemma is a fellowship-trained spine surgeon and director of the spine services at MedStar Good Samaritan. He studied under the renowned spine surgeon John Kostuik, MD, and has published several research articles in peer-review journals.
Dr. Kulik is the director of foot and ankle services. He completed a fellowship in foot and ankle surgery at the University of Texas, Houston School of Medicine. Dr. Nasseri has experience with total joint surgery from Germany and the United States and has a special interest in minimally invasive procedures and cartilage restoration techniques.
Dr. Peroutka is the director of the Joint Experience program at MedStar Good Samaritan and completed a fellowship in adult reconstructive surgery. Dr. Petersen is the director of shoulder surgery at MedStar Good Samaritan, previously serving as chief of orthopedic surgery at Letterman Army Medical Center in San Francisco.
Dr. Pichard-Encina focuses on non-surgical medical management of orthopedic injuries and disorders. MedStar Orthopaedics includes around 100 physicians in more than 20 community locations.
