Neurosurgeon Kadhya David Muballe, MD, is returning to Port Elizabeth, South Africa to create a neurosurgery department at the Livingstone Hospital, according to the Herald Live.

1. Previously, Dr. Muballe served as a neurosurgeon at Seattle-based Washington School of Medicine, where he underwent fellowship training.
2. Dr. Muballe served as chief of neurosurgery at the Nelson Mandela Academy Hospital in South Africa before moving to the U.S.
3. Throughout his career, Dr. Muballe frequently traveled to the Livingstone Hospital to operate on patients unable to be transported.
3. He holds a bachelor of medicine and bachelor of surgery degree, two masters of medicine degrees in surgery and neurosurgery, a PhD, a diploma in neurosurgery and post-graduate qualification in neurosurgery from the South African College of Medicine.
5. Dr. Muballe's goal is to create an independent department of neurosurgery with a training unit to do research.
