Brian Willis, MD, will serve as the interim chairman of Louisiana-based LSU Health Shreveport's neurosurgery department, according to KTBS.

2. Dr. Willis will replace Anil Nanda, MD. LSU Health Shreveport removed Dr. Nanda from the position Oct. 5.
3. A tenured professor, Dr. Nanda is still a part of the medical school's faculty.
4. LSU Health Shreveport has not disclosed a timeline for a permanent chairman appointment.
5. Dr. Willis specializes in pediatric and stereotactic neurosurgery.
