Question: What goals do you have for your practice in 2020?
Jeffrey Wang, MD. Keck Medicine of USC (Los Angeles): Our goals are to improve quality for everyone. Certainly, our patients are first. We will continue to try to improve patient experience, obtain better patient satisfaction and measure this to ensure we are moving in the right direction. At the same time, we want to improve the quality for our surgeons, support staff, residents/fellows and all the folks who help run our spine center.
Lali Sekhon, MD, PhD. Reno (Nev.) Orthopedic Clinic: Our group consists of 30 physicians and has recruited five this year. It has a large footprint of ancillaries. This expansion and growth needs to continue. On a personal level, I wish to finish my MBA, explore reimbursement outside medicine, recruit and build.
Ciro Randazzo, MD. Hudson Regional Hospital (Secaucus, N.J.): We will be opening our new two-room surgical center in Paramus, N.J., in January so we would like that to be fully utilized within three to six months. We are also continuing to attract other specialties to our multispecialty practice to increase the breadth of options available to patients. We also aim to improve patient access to our providers to grow our volume and maximize reimbursement by assuring our collections are appropriate to our contracts so we are leaving less on the table.
