Neurosurgeon David Krieger, MD, is among the first in South Florida to offer the Mojave PL 3D expandable interbody system for spinal fusions, according to South Florida Hospital News.
Three things to know:
1. Developed by Stryker, the Mojave cage features a chamber that allows packing of the bone graft prior to implantation. It is used to treat degenerative disc disease, degenerative scoliosis and Grade I spondylolisthesis.
2. Dr. Krieger practices with Fort Lauderdale-based HCA East Florida's Physician Services Group. He specializes in minimally invasive and robotic approaches to spine surgery.
3. The Mojave cage was implanted in three surgeries at Aventura (Fla.) Hospital and Medical Center in June, using both minimally invasive and open approaches.
