Former NYU neurosurgeon dies at 91

Former neurosurgeon William Owen, MD, died at his home Aug. 27 at 91 years old, the Tribune Chronicle reports.

Dr. Owen was an associate professor of neurosurgery at New York University in New York City, where he engaged in advanced research for Parkinson's disease.

Toward the end of his career, he moved to Warren, Ohio, operating a private practice and serving as a staff surgeon at the now defunct St. Joseph Riverside Hospital.

He earned his medical degree from Emory University in Atlanta and completed a residency at New York Hospital Cornell Medical Center in New York City.
