Alfredo Quinones-Hinojosa, MD, chair of the department of neurologic surgery at Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville, Fla., will star in a Netflix documentary series to be released Dec. 9.
The four-episode series, "The Surgeon's Cut," explores innovations in modern surgery.
Dr. Quinones-Hinojosa and his team perform hundreds of brain and spine surgeries a year.
His expertise is in brain tumor surgery and his research focuses on brain tumors and stem cell migration, healthcare disparities for minorities and clinical outcomes for neurosurgical patients.
The series will also feature a cardiothoracic surgeon, an organ transplant surgeon and a maternal and fetal medicine specialist.
